The California Air Resources Board (CARB) will hold the LCFS verifier accreditation in-person training from: April 13 to April 17, 2026 in the Los Angeles area, CA.
CARB is accepting applications for accreditation of LCFS verification bodies and individual verifiers. More information, including a detailed training schedule will soon be posted on the LCFS Verification website.
Please note that CARB will NOT offer LCFS verifier accreditation training in 2027 and 2028, plan accordingly.
The training includes six courses. Lead verifier candidates applying under section 95502(c)(3)(A)-(E) of the LCFS regulation may opt out of Course 1 and are not required to take the general verification accreditation exam pursuant to LCFS Regulation section 95502(c)(3)(G). However, Course 1 is highly recommended to reinforce essential LCFS verification principles. Non-lead verifier applicants who do not currently meet the requirements for lead verifier applicants should consider completing all six courses to be eligible to upgrade to lead verifier at a later time after the experience requirements have been met.

Verification bodies must submit an Application for Verification Body Accreditation to CARB, along with any Individual Verifier applications. Verification bodies may choose to submit the templates required in section 95501(b)(1)(B) of the LCFS regulation after verifier accreditation training to finalize their accreditation package. Individuals planning to provide LCFS verification services who are not affiliated with a current verification body or verification body applicant must submit individual accreditation applications to CARB via email at lcfsverify@arb.ca.gov.
Prior to payment and registration for the training, submitted applications must first be prescreened for eligibility and approved by CARB. Therefore, it is advised to submit applications early enough to ensure adequate processing time, typically a few weeks. After approval, eligible applicants will be notified when they may enroll in the verifier accreditation training. The enrollment period for the training will close on March 16, 2026.
